Genetic Modification Technology

Genetic modification technology is often referred as recombinant DNA technology. Currently we are using genetic modification techniques to: (1) produce new medicines and safer vaccines (2) treat some genetic diseases
(3) enhance biocontrol agents in agriculture (4) increase agriculture yields and decrease production costs (5) decrease allergy-producing characteristics of some foods (6) improve food's nutritional value (7) develop biodegradable plastics and (8) decrease water and air pollution.
